Meet Homer. Opening day 5.5 year old 10 pointer. Named after my late brothers grandpa whose land I hunt on in Orange County. He was a wonderful deer 2yrs ago, but I knew he was young and let him walk. Then this year he blew up. He came in with 4 other bucks at 6:30 but he knew something wasnââ¬â¢t right. All of them walked off and of course my stomach turned. My wife encouraged me wait heââ¬â¢ll come back. Sure enough 7:10 he came back and hung out in the thickets, then he stopped behind a oak tree for what seemed like 20 minutes. Young buck to my left spotted me and was about to run then Homer step out and boom!
