On 11-12-17 Sunday afternoon I climbed into my stand after putting out some tinks 69 in hopes of seeing a couple bucks I've been after. There wasn't alot of movement happening until about 515 when I seen a big doe in the pines about 120 yards away. I immediately picked my 270 up and when I did I seen horns coming through the pines trailing the doe. And after a miss fire from a bad shell I shucked another bullet in and I had only one opening to shoot before he got out of sight.
I pulled the trigger and he high kicked and took off. He only ran about 30 yards
I had no idea which buck it was until I got my hands on him.
Two years earlier I had missed this buck when he was 5 1/2 years old during bow season I haven't seen a sign of this buck since, until Sunday afternoon.
Buck was 20 7/8 inside spread
And grossed 162. David King at buckhorn taxidermy age him at 7 1/2 years old. I'm from northern orange county and this buck was harvested in Caswell county
