Wow what a month of fishing we had in Charleston, SC. It all started with a great trout bite followed by an insane redfish bite. The trout were holding next to deep drop offs, and the reds were found all over the place (mostly around docks and oyster beds). The key to catching fish was finding the clean water. If you found the clean water, you found the fish. Most fish were caught on Zman DieZel Minnowz in Sexy Penny and live shrimp. Check out my website for tips and tactics on fishing for trout and redfish in the fall.

The fall bite in Charleston is in full swing. The bull reds are biting, and the nearshore fishing is getting fired up. Plenty of King Mackerels being caught off of the beach, and plenty of bull reds being caught around deep drop offs. The key right now is finding the fresh live bait, whether it be mullet or menaden. Get out there and catch some big ones!

Great inshore bite right now in Charleston. Bull redfish are biting around deep ledges, and inshore fishing is starting to pick up. Redfish, trout and flounder are being caught in the rivers as well as at the jetties. Live shrimp under popping corks for the river, and carolina rigs for the bull redfish. The fishing is only going to get better as the summer starts to come to an end.

The king mackerel bite is off the charts right now. Almost every piece of live and hard bottom is holding king mackerel. Slow trolling menhaden and mullet is working very well. Trolling rapalas and spoons is also proving to be very effective.
Kings are ranging from 10lbs to 40lbs, with the best depth being around 70-100ft.
