I have hunted (along with several friends) at Cherokee Run 6 times over the last 8 years. I have personally shot 2 hogs (boar and sow), 2 deer (nice buck and doe, and 1 turkey. I shot these animals on 4 of the 6 hunts, the other 2 I didn't see anything. I will continue to hunt with Tom at Cherokee Run because even on the hunts where I didn't see anything, we had a blast. We chose Cherokee Run because we are all experienced hunters and have no interest in guaranteed hunts (high fences). They hunt free-range wild animals and I understand from 30+ years of hunting, that there are no guarantees (unless it's a high fence operation). Tom and his staff have always been very professional and helpful in putting us on the game we pursue. To me, the joy of hunting is the pursuit, not the kill. It's me against the game I pursue; sometimes I win and sometimes the game does. If you are looking for a guaranteed 'hunt' with fenced animals, then Cherokee Run is not your place. If you are looking for that hunt camp experience and truly match wits with wild game, then Cherokee Run is your place. Just my experiences.
