Redfish schooling nicely in less than a foot of water, fly fishing with good friends this weekend.
What a killer weekend, we got near about everything eastern NC had to offer this weekend without going offshore fishing too.
On Friday evening, longtime friend Bryce Pike and I went 2-3 on old drum in the Pamlico fishing in 12 feet of water using cut mullet on Owen Lupton rigs. The next morning, we were skunked fishing except for catching a couple bluefish. I drove back to Wilson on saturday night.
Sunday morning, I woke up to meet my buddies Spencer Hinnant, Blake Mitchell, and Tyler Hawley in Wilson county to scout some geese one last time before the opener on Monday. We counted a little over sixty birds flying in between 7 and 7 30 am. We Woke up Monday morning to hunt them in the same bean field we scouted before and I video recorded. About 40 geese ended up coming, and the boys killed 7. Photos of the hunt are also in the video. Please check it out and let me know what you think.
Sunday afternoon, I drove back to Beaufort County to meet up with Archie Griffin, of Griffin Farms for his annual Dove hunt. I met several new friends, and had good times with old ones. We ended up with almost everyone getting their limits before closing down a wonderful weekend.
These are the photos of the experience, as well as the video from the goose trip. These are memories that i will never forget, in a place that is unlike any other state in the county. Hope you all had a wonderful labor day enjoying North Carolina!

My first Turkey May 10, 2014 Wilson County\r\nWhat a thrill...This season has been incredible. I have been trying to catch a kill in the decoys on camera of a buddy since the beginning of the year. I found this bird with my best friend from home two weeks prior to killing it. He couldn\'t go with me that day, so i called another buddy to come with me. We both agreed that the camera had been jinxing us, so we left it in the truck. I am so glad that we did bring it to the farm though. Got this awesome photo holding him up showing the excitement in my face of my first turkey kill.
