10 year old Braxton Owen has some good luck in the 2019 deer season. Seems to be the luck of the many generations who have passed the love for hunting down to our family over the years. So thankful I was able to hunt with my great grandfather, grandfather and my dad. This year Braxton took a good buck with his grandfather and a few weeks later I was able to experience another good buck with him! Memories that will last a lifetime!!!!
On Nov 27th In Randolph County, Braxton Owen and his grandpaw Buddy Owen left out around 3:00 to get in the stand. They had already dropped me and my daughter Maddi off at our stand. They got in their stand around 5 mins after 3:00 and got settled in. At 3:20 we heard a shot ring out on the other side of the farm. All My daughter and myself could do was laugh, as those two have to be the luckiest hunters ever. Braxton made a great shot with Grandpas .270 on a good buck!! They continued to hunt the rest of the afternoon and make the memories that will be passed on from generation to generation!
As the years pass so do many traditions! Maddi and Braxton Owen have had a good start to holding up their end of not letting the traditions fail! At the age of 7 and 8 they both were successful in harvesting their first turkeys! Now Braxton (9) and Maddi (14) they have both been successful in harvesting their first deer! Teaching our youth and children the right ways to hunt and handle firearms is a wonderful tradition thatâs been passed down for 6 generations! Iâm so thankful they love the outdoors and respect our lands as our elders did!
