food for thought to all the guy's who will be pattering there gun's for the upcoming turkey season when u place your paper target tape it to a peace of tin are some type of thin metal i like to use sheet metal about the thicknees of aluminum can the reason i do this not only am i checking for a tight pattern but also pentration..yeah 40,50 yards may look great but your shoot is losing it's force the further that u are shooting and remember what shell work's in this guy's gun might not work as well in your's take the time to pattern your gun to the max and try diffrent shell's,chokes, shoot size, shell length, gun powder amounts all this plus more will make a great day are a regretful one..some men only get one shot a season some hope for just that so put in the time and be prepared for the chalenge that ol thunder chicken will put u through

yes his shot was not a great 1 he plucked the feathers off right at the base of the neck and yes i know the shells are pricey but lets be honest if u are goin to put the hard earned time and gas for scouting all the money in a gun that u prob only use 6 week's out of the year camo snakeboot's,turkey vest, camo choke tubes,hi viz sights are a scope then what is a $5.00 shell and they where 12 pellets in his head i know cause we cut his head open and counted them i have'em in a advil bottle and the boot was not needed lead straight to head = dead...and in n.c all u need is 2 shell's so that's $10.00 for 2 birds * 2 year's = 4 bird's and one shell for that 40yard paper target that we all do just a cuple of day's before opening bottom $5.00 ain't nothing for a thunder chicken and if i did'nt belive in the shell i would not have re posted just food for thought..bottom line we all have are on prefrence and there is nothing wrong with that as long as u get what u set out to seek..good luck this season to all the turkeythug's

buy the hevi13 magnum blends they are pricey but cheaper than a turkey running away..I took my freind turkey hunting and he shot a bird 25yard's away and the bird took off runing he could not swing to get a shoot because of me filming the hunt so i dropped the camera and put the bead at the top of his head when he was hit i rolled him and he fell dead..It was a long and impossble shoot but he was getting away that easy i steped it off at 72 step's from where i pulled the trigger i have a 3' step so that is 72 yards...i was shooting a stoeger p350 with a factory turkey choke with a 28' barell i was using the 3' magnum blend's which is loaded with #5,#6,#7...he was using some $6.00 walmart shell it will make a diffrence not knocking the cheaper loads but since i discoverd the hevi 13 i feel like i just got a edge on the turkeys if they hang up and outher hunter's.
