  • Hey Guys,
I was just wondering if any of you know of places (other than public land) I may be able to hunt. I spent all last year in Afghanistan and missed the entire deer season. I came home and found out we no longer have our hunting lease. I just need a place I can take my 2 boys(8 and 10) where we can see a few deer and I can teach them the ways and heritage of hunting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. God bless

    Hi all,
I have been looking into getting a crossbow when I return home from Afghanistan. I have been looking at the TenPoint brand and specifically the Titan Extreme. I wanted to know if any of you guys and gals have one of these or if you know anything about it. Any input would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck this season

Just wanted to wish all my fellow North Carolina hunters good luck this season! Hopefully its a successful season for all. I am in the Army and currently deployed in Afghanistan, so sadly i will miss deer season for the 1st time since i was quite young. I hope to see lots of post so i can live out this season through you guys and gals. So good luck!

i just wanted to post a note and tell anyone who may be hunting in or around Union County NC that if they take their deer to a proccessing plant, DO NOT take it to a place in MIneral Springs formerly called Hornsbecks. I took a large buck last year and they never returned it to me. I tried calling several times with no results. I lost a very large healthy deer and my uncle lost a doe the same way. They are ripping people off giving their meat away. Two years ago the only deer I took them came back with buckshot in the steaks. I have never shot deer with a shotgun. Only my trusty rifle! Be careful who you take your meat too. Save the money and do it yourself if you can. Thats what I do now.

This was my first buck of last season. Not many points(only 4) but had a good body on him. He weighed in at 145#. I killed him on Nov. 24th. I havent had much sucess until the last couple of years. He was rubbing a tree when I shot him. He really made my day. I hope I can get a real wall hanger this year.

Thanks for all the kind words. It really does mean alot to all of us over here to just know that people are keeping us in their thoughts and prayers and appreciate what we do. It helps us stay motivated each day. I will stay in touch and cant wait to be able to get back in the woods, hopefully with my two sons by my side

unfortunetly I dont have access to hundreds or thousands of acres to hunt. I hunt on a family owned tract of 15 acres. So while I would love to practice quality deer management, its hard when the first step this buck or any buck for that matter takes off my land someone else will shoot him. Im a poor mans hunter. I cant pay ass loads of money to join clubs or go on guided hunts. They all taste the same anyway.(by the way this was only my 2nd buck)
