  • Corey and Tucker Burgess from Ravenswood, WV had lots of fun and made many memories when they went fishing with Capt Butch Foster, YEAH RIGHT CHARTERS out of Southport/Oak Island NC. Not only did Tucker catch red and black drum and trout, but he said he caught lots of croakers.

Wow what a month of fishing we had in Charleston, SC. It all started with a great trout bite followed by an insane redfish bite. The trout were holding next to deep drop offs, and the reds were found all over the place (mostly around docks and oyster beds). The key to catching fish was finding the…

The fall bite in Charleston is in full swing. The bull reds are biting, and the nearshore fishing is getting fired up. Plenty of King Mackerels being caught off of the beach, and plenty of bull reds being caught around deep drop offs. The key right now is finding the fresh live bait, whether it be…

Great inshore bite right now in Charleston. Bull redfish are biting around deep ledges, and inshore fishing is starting to pick up. Redfish, trout and flounder are being caught in the rivers as well as at the jetties. Live shrimp under popping corks for the river, and carolina rigs for the bull…

April 1 was a big day on the water for Tina and Randy Thomason. Tina caught her first redfish, a nice bull at that, near the South Jetty at Charleston Harbor, on cut mullet fished on a sliding sinker red. Randy caught a nice black drum on a piece of oyster fished on a Carolina rig near Drum Island.

Made our way up towards the Albemarle Sound on the hunt for some striped bass. Needless to say we had a great day. Caught 35 fish including my new personal best 33 incher. All fish caught on Cotton Cordell Red Fins.

Not use to using shrimp for bait. Have used blood worms all my life.
If we can not blood worms or fresh shrimp, and have to use frozen shrimp, after cutting into pieces will it frozen on the hook long enough?
I use a tip of 'fish bites' along with the cut shrimp. Either shrimp or bloodworm scent. It has seemed to 'enhance' the bite at times and also keeps some type of bait on the hook for extended time.

My wife and I are new to South Carolina. We would like to surf fish at Edisto State Park, this summer. We took a ride out there today and could not find any tackle shops. As we have questions to ask. Like what to fish for and what to use for bait. And where to buy the bait.
    Can anybody help us.

My fishing partner and I getting it done downeast North Carolina on the Neuse river. My personal best speckled trout and rockfish! Fin-s and artificial shrimp using two twitches and let it fall.

Alec Daneau spent his 1st day on the water in Pamlico Sound. It was a magical day for this young man. Outfishing everyone on the boat. Not only did he outfish us but he also landed the slob of the day!
All in all a great day on the water with a mix of 20+ specks, 15 reds, 12 flounder and 2…
