    Jonathan Crutchfield killed this boss gobbler March 6, 2015 in Alamance County. It had a 10 5/8 inch long beard and 1 5/8 inch long spurs. The weight was 20 lbs.

    Harvested my first turkey with a crossbow on 5/3/2015 in Eastern North Carolina. This turkey had a ten and a half inch beard and inch and a half spurs.

    Well i dont think i have to state the obvious. But down here on the coast the breeding is running a little late and its making for some slow hunts.     What's the deal with these birds with long beards and short spurs this year. My son killed one yesterday with 7/8' spurs and 10 3/4' beard. My friend got one with 1' spurs and 11 1/2' beard. What gives?

    What a season so far!!!!! I keep calling and the Gobblers keep fallin!!!! Got my Daughter her 2nd Gobbler during youth week and then Found Diane a nice Gobbler the first 20 minutes of opening day and then Diane00 and myself tagged teamed a few at Mid-day!!! Nice its time to Catfish!!!!!!!!
