My son Gaston Gilley (9) went on an afternoon hunt with Pawpaw and a couple doe’s came in and a 6 but couldn’t get a clear shot on that one, he waited until dusk and saw horns coming over the hill, the buck stayed behind a tree and stepped out looking straight at them for 10-15 min then walked out of view, they assumed he’d walk back down the road toward them and they would have a closer shot, but he just kept walking away, pawpaw got the binoculars to see and the next thing he knew Gaston took the shot and dropped him. They both cried and cried, such a sweet memory! We took him to be measured this morning (12/21/19) and he was 144 5/8, definitely a 10 point but there are several ringers.
