Well if you haven't heard and I'm sure you have.... The giant buck I have been after 3 years was killed Thursday morning by crossbow hunter Steven Davis of Davidson county about 5 road miles from where I got countless trail cam videos and pics of him but only about a mile as the crow flies. I talked to Mr. Davis Thursday night for a few hours and got the play by play and congratulated him. He had no prior history with the buck and just put his stand up opening evening, baited and hung a camera. He actually saw the deer Sunday evening on his first sit and each sit after that at various ranges but never close enough for a shot. He pulled card and found the huge buck was spending entire day in the beans around his stand with a younger 6 point Steven named Youngblood. It was Thursday morning when Youngblood led freak nasty in front of Stevens 15 foot ladder stand and noticing the alertness of the monster, he knew it was now or never so he sent a bolt from 35 yards to his target that found it's mark and at the end if a 150 yard blood trail,Steven found his prize dead in a flowing creek. I'm sad but happy at the same time that this buck was took legally because several people had reported seeing him in the beans in the Kate evening so Congrats Mr. Davis on a deer of a lifetime. I've always said since I first gout a video of this buck that he was a deer that would put Davidson county on the big Buck map and sir....you did it!!!
