  • Ashley Leads for the 3rd Day at the FLW Tour on Lake Hartwell

Casey Ashley from Donalds leads the pro anglers for the third day at the FLW Tour on Lake Hartwell.

With another great day, Ashley weighed-in another good sack of fish of 15-7 pounds (5) and has a three-day total of 52-11 pounds (5). Ashley outdistanced his closest competitor, Clent Davis of Montevallo, AL, by almost ten pounds.

Because of a three hour fog delay, Ashley said that he did not hook his first bass until 10:40, and he had to “scratch and claw” to catch his fish on a jig and a shaky head. Ashley said that he has had a “magic week,” and he plans to go out there and “pound them tomorrow,” the final day.

Anthony Gagliardi from Prosperity was the only other South Carolina pro to make it into the top ten. Gagliardi moved into ninth place with 7-8 pounds (5) and has a three-day total of 34-2 pounds.

Barton Aiken from Greenville, who was in fourth place coming into Day 3, failed to weigh-in any fish and had a three day total of 31-11 pounds. Aiken fell to twelfth place, and will not be fishing on Day 4, but he did receive a check for $12,000.

On the co-angler side, Dennis Cameron of Travelers Rest had 1-15 pounds (1) and finished up in fifth place with a three-day total of 23-3 pounds. Cameron netted $3000.

Kevin Gordon of Aiken did not catch a fish on Day Three and finished up in thirteenth place with a three-day total of 17-7 pounds. Gordon netted $1500.

Dearal Rogers of Camden weighed-in 1-8 pounds (1) and finished up in fifteenth place with a three-day total of 16-9 pounds. Rogers netted $1500.

And then there were ten. Tomorrow, Sunday, is the last day of the Border Battle on Lake Hartwell, and ten anglers are left. All eyes are on Casey Ashley. Can he work his magic again, one more time?
