  • Deep Water Bass Fishing on Lake Keowee

Lake Keowee tournament anglers say that you only need to bring two rods for November bass fishing, a dropshot and jigging rod.

The bait and the bass are holding in 20-40 feet of water in the creek channels, and it is definitely a morning bite. The bass are hitting best from sunup till 9:00, but the fishing is still good all day.

Only the fish are not “ganging up” on the holes, and you have to get right on top of them. These fish seem to be suspended about two feet off the bottom, and it is a subtle bite.

After locating the fish, use a dropshot rig with either a finesse green pumpkin or morning dawn worm to entice a bite. As for the jigging rod, a Hopkins ˝ ounce jigging spoon is used to aggravate the bass into biting.

So for some November deep water bass fishing action, grab your two rods and head to Lake Keowee.
