Well one of the bucks that I have been watching all summer made the wrong move on Thursday. I eased into my stand Thursday about 4:30. As I was going in I busted a small buck off of the corn pile. This was so discouraging but decided to stick it out and see what happened. My stand is in the edge of the woods with a bean field to my back. I have limited view of the field but none the less can see a little into that field. around 6:30 I see a deer running in the woods. Its a doe and two yearlings who finally settled down to come get a little corn. After eating for only 5 minutes they moved out of sight but I could still hear them. I sat a few more minutes then I heard a limb break back in the woods. Tried looking through my binoculars but could not catch a glimpse of anything. I heard deer walking as the sun began to fade. I had realized I was racing time and light. The sounds were closing but going to my left. I come to the conclusion that the deer were headed to the bean field. Right before dark I told myself I had to get down and just glimpse into the field before last shooting light. As I got down and looked in the beans there he stood 50 yards with several other deer. I put the TC up on a tree and squeezed. The rest is history he fell directly in his tracks. AS the smoke settled I could see is horns laying in the beans. Could not be any more excited with this buck. Hope you all enjoyed the story. Sorry for being lengthy but cant enjoy it without all the details. Good luck in the woods.
