  • Nearshore Reef Fishing

Capt. Robert Olsen of Knot@Work Fishing Charters (843-442-7724) has been fishing some nearshore reefs for sheepshead lately, and said the 4-10 pound sheepshead are biting well. He's having to weed his way through a lot of black sea bass, but he said it's worth it. Another bycatch he has experienced lately is the spottail pinfish, also-known-as a ringtail. It is similar to a sheepshead and is good eating.

Live fiddler crabs fished around rockpiles or other submerged structure is the best technique for catching these fish.
