I use Avian Decoys and have the Lookout and the Feeder BUT...If I hadn't caught them on sale for $34 Each..I wouldn't have them lol I seldom set up without Decoys myself and have used the Foam Feather Flex for years with good results. I still have a 'Flocked' 3 position Feather Flex Hen when I'm running and gunning because it only weighs a few ounces and sets up in a second unlike the avians that you have to blow up... The Avians are very life-like but weigh 6lbs each!!! That sucks about them lol but I don't use a Jake anymore and usually just 1 Hen about 15/20 yards from me and facing my general direction because I have had Gobblers make eye contact with them and 'Hang-Up' out of Range and that's also why I like mine close like 15/20 yards so if he does decide to Hang-Up at 40...I'll try him!!!! In the Real Turkey world..The Gobblers Gobble to attract the hens and if they are looking Eye to eye, he will stop and strut wanting the hen to come to him so that's why I like my decoys looking away from where I'm expecting The Birds to come from. I have also noticed that on Public land..Gobblers become Decoy shy Fast!!! and later in the season I might not use 1 at all and no aggressive calling like the first week, I'll scratch the leaves with soft Clucks and Purrs and if I yelp any it's a short series and no more than once every 30 minutes.
