All The Bucks Where Not Shooters So I Watched Them For Awhile and then Decided the Bucks Where To Small So I Took A Nice 80 Lb Doe. Hope to go again More Next Week Woods Are Heating up In Wake And Durham Counties. Good Luck To All. Waiting on a Monster Buck!!

    Congrats on the back straps.
I've been seeing a lot of action in the past week. Deer moving when you don't think they would be. Don't know if the bucks chasing is pushing does out or if the cool temps are making them get on foot and look for food.

I think some cool days with some overcast are in order for this coming this week. I managed to take 2 cull bucks this week and a nice doe in the span of 5 days and a total of maybe 8 hours on stand.

Burger meat and pepperoni sticks are filling up the freezer. Thus far a better year than last year!

Good luck and peg a wall hanger!

It's been a while since I skinned a squirrel but they are good eating......right now I see quite a few of them but I have them working as my deer approaching alarm.......guess that's what you meant buy in Jan.....lol!
Here's a picture of Alvin.....he visits often. I told him I'll let him eat all the acorns he wants as long as he doesn't give me away to the deer.....lol!

Viperx4, lol Sweet, yea Sometimes they will give you away if you move they will alert the deer to your presents. The Old Saying goes You scare The Squirrels You Scare The Deer. I Love Big Game Hunting and Waterfowl, But im so Ready to Go To Hunt Lower Roanoake River Gameland For squirrels.

Love huntin Falls lake. I took a nice 7 pointer near hwy. 98 2 years ago. I now hunt some private land not far from there and I'm finally startin to see 1st sign of some rut activity. Bit later this year for some reason but def. pumped for rest of the month. I think it's gonna be hot for at least a few more weeks.... Good luck on your big boy and nice doe too btw

@Fairchas, Thanks Man. Sweet Congrats On The Buck!! That Area I Like To Hunt. I Try To Mix It Up Alittle. I Try Hard to stay away From The the big tracts until Late Season, because im sure as You Know They Get Slammed With Hunters. But I Really like where im at Now, might Hunt There The Rest Of The Season. yep It Is Going to Be Warm for a few more Weeks. The Rutting action is picking up, but wont be the best if its Warm. Good Luck.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but you may want to take a look at the game lands regs for either sex season dates on Bunter-Falls.

@ Ray13, Thank you For The Reminder on THE Eighter Sex Deer Season But As Someone Else Posted All Of Bow Muzzleloader And now Starting This Season Butner-falls Is A Moderate Gun Season. I Volunteer For The WRC, Taking Care Of Gamelands And Picking Up Trash, So Im Very Fine Tuned To All The Rule Restrictions And Season Lenths On Every Tract of Gameland In The State. But Every Gameland Is Different so Everybody Needs To Make Sure They Read The Rule Book. Thanks For Your Feed Back.

@Nc-huntandfish. Sweet Glad You Let him Walk. The Little Bucks Seem To Be In A Hurry to Breed before they Get Run Off By A Monster. Good luck!! I Think im going to pass every deer from now on until the last 6 days of the season. Where im hunting at now, I Have Faith that somewhere there's a monster Buck Lurking in the shadows waiting for me to takem, or at least try lol Good Luck Brother and be Safe Thanks for Sharing!!

The other day I heard some MAJOR grunting out in the thicket, never did get to see him, but boy did he sound BIG. Let me know if you want to get together some time since we are both always around the same area.

@nc-huntandfish, Great Sounds Like Your In A Good Spot!! If The Grunt sounded Deep he's A Good Size Buck, i find to be true most of the time, lol except for me, ive got a real deep voice but im a buck 25 ib's lol. Tuesday I Hunted all day, nothing in the am but alitte Past lunch time a doe came from behind me at a slow trot, and not a minute Later i heard a buck hyper Gruting. I Thought it was the one ive been after the last few days, but he walked 20 yards to my left trailing the doe, it turned out to be alitte spike, so he got to follow his girlfriend. nothing again until last light 3 does and a fawn came in and where feeding right behind me and they wouldn't leave. lol i could get out of my stand til 6:30pm, didnt want them to bust me. i need the does to feel safe to bring in the big Boy. ive only got one tag left, buck or doe. cant take does again til the last 6 days, so i hoe to take another good buck. i heard one rifle shot on the trac i was on around 2:00pm, but walking to my truck i didnt see any fresh drag marks or deer cart tracks, so maybe they missed. maybe will get together and hunt some, i'll let you know. ive got to work some next week, but i'll still be able to go off and on and i hope to throw in some duck hunting time. Good Luck Brother, keep at it You'll get the big one!!
