  • Murrells Inlet Inshore Slamming

This is a great month for catching the inshore slam of redfish, flounder, and seatrout in the Murrells Inlet area and all over the Grand Strand. Local angler Adam Correa caught the inshore slam x3 yesterday while wading next to one of the small jetty walls.

Correa was catching his fish on a variety of Gulp! baits, but had to switch to live bait when his tackle box ran dry of the fake stuff.

Capt. Jay Baisch has been hooking up with big bull reds in the 40-pound range while fishing about 1/4-mile off the beach at Area 51 and another spot closer to the beach known locally as the Chimneys.

Baisch, who runs Fishfull Thinking Guide Service, has also been catching plenty of seatrout, weakfish, and flounder. Baisch has been using mostly cut bait and live menhaden and mullet.
