Well a lot of people don't like to admit to missing but I know it is a part of hunting that everybody experiences at some point. Well, yesterday I did just that on a nice doe. It would have been my longest shot, 48 yards, if I would have connected. I shot right where I was aiming but I anticipated 8-10' drop being is was dead still and quiet. Needless to say she did not read my script and had other plans lol....There was 2 does and a young buck out in the field. There was something else in the edge of the woods that they kept looking at and I could here but whatever it was never stepped out. I decided b4 it got to dark to try her. Anyway, they are really hammering the beans around here so I know I will get another crack at her. I am going to try and post the video. The shot is around the 2:15 mark....Thanks goodness for lighted nocks...I would have never found the arrow if it wasn't for them....

Well...Your breathing after the shot like you hit her LMBO!!! That's OK Buddy..That's part of it and your shot was on the money and I also would have thought that she would have dropped at that distance but remember It's early...This same scenario in a few weeks you would have anchored her lol...Thanks for sharing I enjoyed it!! Looks like a great set-up...Good Luck man..What camera you using?

Sorry 'bout that DCB - I know you'll anchor one soon. Good Luck to you bud.
Jager - I don't shoot 'em if they have young fawns w/ them but that just me.

Jager, I myself don't shoot Does that I think are still nursing their young...I give them a while also because I have seen does come in and it might be 5 to 10 minutes before the fawns come to her...If they are yearlings and seem to be wandering away from her anyway then that's a different story but I myself just take it all in if I see spots...We have plenty of time!!!

I wont shoot a doe with little ones.I heard a guy say he shot a doe with a little one and when he found the doe the little one was laying there beside her, because he didnt know what else to do.That made me mad.

Thanks CRH!! Na, I expected her to drop because of how quite and nervous they were....Yep, they come out of this natural funnel towards the corner...The tree I am in is the best tree closest to it...It was a 48 yard shot so it was longer than what I usually will shoot at. The line was good I just shot under her...
