  • Bottom of tree - stand?

Ok, here is my question. I have been trying to find or come up with a way to walk in with some kind of seat that goes around any tree and I can just sit on it, and a normal height, you know like 3 feet off the ground or whatever... Ideas?

Forget that!!!! If I'm doing ANY sitting in the woods or even Fishing on the bank/Pier...I carry my 6-lb Gobbler Lounger that several of us on the site here use to Turkey hunt with and I am comfy comfy comfy...The design even lets you rest your Firearm on your knee...I Love My Gobbler Lounger!!!!

Is it conducive to shoot a bow from?

I have one of these and it is pretty nice during gun/muzzle loader season but couldn't tell you about bow hunting from it. It has the hanging seat design so it is pretty comfortable. I usually put up a camo umbrella blind in front of me and mount it to a tree with a slight backwards lean so it's almost like being in a recliner. You can find seats like this one on ebay.

You could build a ground blind out of fresh cut limbs and such and shoot from your knees if you are able (Ive never done it but I have seen people that have) or build a low sitting box stand if that is an option. Ive sit on hidden camo buckets before but never with a bow.

It seems to me that such chairs will not be entirely practical because they are simply not comfortable to sit on, even if you take into account the fact that you are leaning on a tree. When it comes to outdoor recreation in the forest, I prefer the backpacking hammock , it is very convenient and easy to attach to any trees or even tents.
