  • Lake Murray Panfishing

While the catfish, bass, and striper fishing has slowed lately, the bream bite is on at Lake Murray.

Fishing around docks with crickets is the hot ticket to a cooler full of bream. A variety of depths are working for anglers, and small artificial lures like spinners and ultralight crankbaits are working well when retrieved alongside docks.

The shellcracker bite has slowed slightly, but plenty of them are being caught in a range of 2-10 feet, especially in coves. Capt. Doug Lown said one trick to locating shellcrackers right now is finding washed up clams on shore, then using nightcrawlers nearby.
