  • Duck Season Out, Goose Season Still In

Yesterday, a lot of Palmetto State hunters put away their waders and waterfowl guns as duck season came to a close, but most would be wise to keep those items handy.

There is still more than a week left of goose season, and Canada Geese and White-fronted Geese are on the menu. Shooting these two species is legal through the end of daylight on Feb. 4th, with the 5th and 6th being youth waterfowl days. The season opens back again on the 7th, and runs through the 10th.

Clarendon County residents and residents of certain portions of Orangeburg and Berkeley Counties don't have it so lucky--their waterfowl seasons are done until the fall. As always, check the SCDNR regulations booklet if you have any questions.

Just call me the goose getter because I plan on gettin' one before the season goes out. Brian, you and I are tied at one honker each, so the late season is gonna be a shootout for braggin' rights!
