After being down 9 inches, Randleman received enough rain from the latest tropical wave to fill it back up and push water into the weeds. We made our trip Friday Oct 1 knowing the winds would be blowing and they were but it didn't stop the fish from biting. The first point we pulled up on yielded the 3.5lb and 2.5lb fish in the picture. We pulled 4 more off that point on a spinner bait and carolina rig before moving on. We caught a total of 18 bass before they shut down around 10:30 - 11. Water clarity was 1-2ft and a cool 70 degrees after the rain. Not too many hits on crank baits which leads me to believe the shad haven't started pushing into the creeks yet.

    Nice fish!
Great report...looks like there ARE some nice fish in Randleman already. Way to stay with them...

Any color in particular more successful?

    shad
A good fisherman uses all of nature's 'indicators' and I like your comments about the water clarity, temperature and particular about the presence of shad. Keep at it!

    Color
We found red or purple worms were working better than natural greens or pumpkin on carolina rigs. Probably a little more visible in the muddy water. Spinnerbaits were all chartreuse and green. Crankbaits were bone color. Go get em!
